The Wairoa Year 7 & 8 Netball Representative Team 2025 have wrapped up a season filled with teamwork, learning, and immense pride in representing their hometown across the motu.
Throughout the year, the team travelled to tournaments in Gisborne, Tauranga, and Rotorua, each bringing new challenges and opportunities to test their skills against strong opposition. For many of the players, these were their first experiences competing at this level, and every game helped them build confidence, resilience, and belief in their abilities.
Beyond the scoreboard, the true success of this season lies in the bonds created both on and off the court. The players learned the importance of discipline, trust, and communication, while also discovering the joy that comes from working hard for one another. Travelling together, sharing victories and lessons, and wearing the Wairoa colours strengthened their connection as a team and as proud representatives of their community.
This campaign was also a powerful reminder of the difference that community support makes. The encouragement from whānau, sponsors, and supporters showed these tamariki that their community stands behind them, believing in their potential and celebrating their achievements. That sense of backing gave them the confidence to compete with heart, to never give up, and to represent Wairoa with mana and humility.
The 2025 season has been more than a series of tournaments it’s been a journey of growth, unity, and pride. These young athletes have shown that with support, courage, and teamwork, Wairoa’s future in sport is bright. 🏐💙💚
